Proposal stories: Chris & Anne
December 27, 2016 Chicago, IL
I met this lovely lady while working at Tiger Oak Publications in Minneapolis. Actually, now that I think about it I may have even met Anne first way back while there at Tiger Oak as an intern in my college years. Even as the years have past, we have kept in touch, connected by being puppy moms and bonding over a love of red barns. When Anne first started dating Chris, I knew there was something special there. Even before I met him, I could see in the photos the way he looked at her and could just feel their love! The night he proposed, Anne was sending me all sorts of awesome food snap chats from the restaurant in Chicago and as usual I was jealous of her good eating. Everything look delectable. Then the food snap chats turned into a diamond ring photo on Anne's left hand! I was so excited. We had so much fun in Stillwater taking their engagement photos. I cannot wait to photograph their amazing wedding day coming up in October!
In Anne's words:
First off, it was the holidays. I had a feeling we would get engaged would happen sooner than later, however, I didn't think it would be on our first trip on a plane together and we had only really been dating 8 months. But I already knew he was the one. We checked in at Hotel Chicago and the clerk greeted us with "Happy Anniversary!" We were like well, we aren't married yet!?  Chris being a chef loves food, wine, and all that jazz so Chicago has this store called Eataly - basically it feels as if you are in Italy. Italian food, sparkling wine, oysters, pasta - a Nordstrom's of grocery stores.  At a standing bar we stopped to sip on our wine and had some burrata cheese & pesto with amazing fresh bread. Chatting it up with each other, we were simply having an amazing time. We were talking about Christmas and then all of a sudden he was pulling a ring out of his pocket and getting down on one knee!  He was in his element comfortable as ever. Everyone froze around us and cheered and clapped as I burst into tears - I was going to marry the best man in the world. Someone who I knew from the very beginning was a good egg. I wouldn't have it any other way! I was so excited!
I love photographing love! If you're proposing, are engaged, or getting married and need a wedding photographer, send me a message for more information!
